Benicio Monserrate Rafael del Toro Sánchez is a Puerto Rican actor. He won an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe and an Actor Guild Award for his portrayal of the jaded but morally correct police officer Javier RodrÃguez in the movie Traffic (2000).Â
Del Toro’s performance as an ex-con turned into a desperate religious fanatic, Jack Jordan, in Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s 21 Grams (2003) earned him a second Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, as well as a second nomination to the Actors Guild Awards and a BAFTA Nomination of the best actor awards in a leading role.
