Sir Julian Robert Hunte, SLC, KCMG, OBE was the foreign minister of Saint Lucia from April 2001 to 26 October 2004, when he was succeeded by Petrus Compton.

Richard Frederick is a Saint Lucian lawyer and politician who was Minister for Physical Planning, Housing, Urban Renewal and Local Government. Born on 6 August 1965, he is the tenth of twelve children and the last of five boys.

 

8. Philip Pierre

Philip J. Pierre is a Saint Lucian politician who is the political leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party.

He has been the parliamentary representative for the CastriesEast constituency since 1997. He became Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport in 2011.

Pierre was selected as Leader of the Opposition following SLP losses at the 2016 general election. He was confirmed leader of the Labour Party on 18 June 2016.

Guy Eardley Joseph is a Saint Lucian politician who represents the constituency of Castries South East for the United Workers Party. Joseph won the seat at the general election held on 11 December 2006, defeating Menissa Rambally.

In the government of Prime Minister John Compton, sworn in on 19 December 2006, Joseph was appointed Minister for Communications, Works, Transport and Public Utilities.

 

6. Vaughan Lewis

Sir Vaughan Allen Lewis, KCSL CBE is a Saint Lucian politician and a former member of the United Workers’ Party (UWP). He served for a brief period as the fourth Prime Ministers of Saint Lucia following the resignation of John Compton. Lewis, a former director of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, assumed the office of Prime Minister on April 2, 1996.

He also served as Minister of Finance, Planning and Development, and Minister of External Affairs. In elections that followed on May 23, 1997, Lewis and the UWP suffered a huge setback, losing all but one of their seats in Parliament, forcing him to resign in favor of the leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party, Dr. Kenny Anthony.

 

5. Pearlette Louisy

Dame Calliopa Pearlette Louisy GCSL, GCMG was the Governor-General of Saint Lucia from 1997 to 2017. She was the first woman to hold this office, into which she was sworn on 19 September 1997, and resigned from on 31 December 2017.

In 1999 Louisy was awarded the Honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) by the University of Bristol. On 16 July 1999 she was appointed Dame Grand Cross of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. In 2011, she received an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLB) from the University of West Indies.

 

4. Stephenson King

 

Stephenson King was the sixth Prime Minister of Saint Lucia. He is the son of Grafton King; a renowned seaman, from Canouan, St.Vincent and Marie Bernadette Satney, a seamstress from the village of Choiseul.

He represents the constituency of Castries North for the United Workers Party (UWP) in the House of Assembly of Saint Lucia.

Although himself reelected in his constituency, his UWP party suffered defeat in the 28 November 2011 general elections.

 

3. Kenny Davis Anthony

Kenny Davis Anthony is a Saint Lucian politician who was Prime Minister of Saint Lucia from 1997 to 2006 and again from 2011 to 2016.

 

As leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party, he was Leader of the Opposition from 2006 to 2011 and returned to office as Prime Minister on 30 November 2011 following the 2011 election.

He left office after the SLP’s defeat in the 2016 election and announced his resignation as party leader.
