- being accredited, licensed and/or chartered by the appropriate Bangladeshi higher education-related organization
- offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (Bachelor degrees) and/or postgraduate degrees (Master or Doctoral degrees)
- delivering courses predominantly in a traditional face-to-face, non-distance education format

10. Islamic University (world rank: 5387)
Established in 1979, Islamic University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large city of Kushtia (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Khulna. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Islamic University (IU) is a coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Islamic University (IU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.
