Jamaicans can be found on every corner of the planet. They are an adventurous people and usually work very hard to achieve their aspirations.
You’ve most likely seen some of these faces many times without knowing of their Jamaican connection.
Here is a list of famous people you probably didn’t know have Jamaican heritage.

10. Kerry Washington
More popularly known as Olivia Pope for her lead role in the mega hit TV show Scandal, Kerry Washington has a Jamaican mother.
Washington was born in The Bronx, New York City, the daughter of Valerie, a professor and educational consultant, and Earl Washington, a real estate broker.
Her father’s family is of African American origin, having migrated from South Carolina to Brooklyn. Her mother’s family is from Manhattan, and Washington has said that her mother is from a “mixed-race background but from Jamaica, so she is partly English and Scottish and Native American, but also descended from African slaves in the Caribbean.”Through her mother, she is a cousin of former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.
9. Delroy Lindo
Lindo was born in Eltham, south-east London. He is the son of Jamaican immigrant parents, and was brought up in nearby Lewisham. His mother was a nurse and his father worked in various jobs. As a teenager, he and his mother moved to Toronto, Canada, and when he was sixteen, they moved to San Francisco, where Lindo would graduate from the American Conservatory Theater.
