Jean-Bertrand Aristide, (born July 15, 1953, Port Salut, Haiti), Haitian politician and Roman Catholic priest of the Salesian order, who was a vocal champion of the poor and marginalized. He was president of the country in 1991, 1994-1996 and 2001-2004.
